The final countdown has begun and the team are busy trying to make sure that all the bases are covered. We are taking our own support car and we will try and be self sufficient as best we can be. This means that we will be taking enough spares to re-build the bikes if we have to and have spare wheels and tyres that we can adapt to the conditions. My major concern is my left knee which feels very dodgy. I am seeing the doctor tomorrow with the hope that I can get some short term fix and I know that he will tell me that the only sure cure is rest. I will just have to keep my fingers crossed.
Most of the other riders are staying in a tented camp but we have opted for hotels. Its an age thing really after all who wants to share a tent with one of your snoring friends after 8 hours of pedaling. Not me!
